Up at 7, we had breakfast and couldn't wait to get started working. Rex took the lead with most of the crew cleaning up the old side walk and getting it ready to pour. The weather is hot and humid. Mucho Caliente and humido!
There wasn't enough work for everyone this morning while we were waiting for supplies so a few of the girls and I grabbed a bucket and walked around the property picking up garbage. They have a new colt here and we went to take a look. Apparently the horse thinks it is a dog and runs after to you to kiss you. He gave Katie C. a big ol smoochie on the back and then came after me. The kids thought it was funny to watch me running and screaming as the horse chased me. Katie C. has the horse hicky to prove it. We are both fine and learned not to run. We also had the horse tied up and feel much safer now.
We took a siesta after lunch while waiting for the cement and sand and gravel to arrive. Once the gravel arrived we poured one batch and then had some technical difficulties with the cement mixer, it was dinner time so we finished up for the day.
After dinner it rained a bit. The kids have a rope in the front yard that they use to lasso each other. Luke P, Ashley and Glen decided to play jump rope. Before we knew it everyone was in on the action. We sat on the front porch and watched as they took turns jumping. It was incredible to see all the kids play. I mean everyone got in on the action even me. This went on for hours and then at 8 pm they had Praise and Worship facilitated by Fernando. They played praise songs on a big speaker that blasted from the front porch and we all clapped and danced and sang along. Then Fernando did a short bible study.
Most of the kids have bibles and follow along reading the scriptures. It was heart warming to see how the older children take care of the younger ones. This house truly is a house of love.
I am beginning to understand why once you come here you keep coming back. It is an incredible example of Gods love and Grace.
That's it for tonight. More tomorrow. Until then,
Buenos Noches-deb

I'm glad all is well. What a wonderful opportunity to serve. Our prayers are with you all. Take care. Jane
Good to see everyone is having a good time and showing God's love to others. Please have our daughter use her bug spray. That's a lot of bug bites for one little body. Great idea to have a blog!
Thoughts and prayers with you all.
